Lunara is an AI-powered sleep coaching app built on CBT-I principles. References to "Lunara", "we", "us" or "our" in this policy refer to the company behind the Lunara app. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@lunara-sleep-ai.com.
We collect the following information when you use Lunara:
• Account data: email address and name, provided at sign-up.
• Sleep data: bedtime, wake time, sleep duration, sleep quality ratings, and notes you enter manually.
• Health data: heart rate, HRV, and sleep stage data — only if you grant permission via Apple Health. This data never leaves your device without your explicit action.
• Mood and behaviour logs: daily mood ratings, energy levels, and wellbeing notes you enter.
• Usage data: app feature usage (anonymised) to help us improve the product.
• Device data: device type and OS version for technical support.
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Lunara service:
• To generate your personalised CBT-I programme and AI coaching insights.
• To produce your clinical sleep report (which you choose if and when to share).
• To send you the report and account-related emails.
• To analyse aggregate, anonymised usage trends to improve the app.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. Ever.
Lunara uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate personalised insights and coaching content. Sleep data sent to our AI service is processed securely and is not used to train AI models. No personally identifiable information is included in AI prompts beyond what is necessary to generate your coaching.
The clinical report is generated entirely on our servers from your sleep data and is stored in your account. You choose if, when, and with whom to share it. Lunara does not share your report with any healthcare provider, insurer, or third party without your explicit action. The report is yours.
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is protected by row-level security — only your account can read your data. We do not store Apple Health data on our servers; it is read locally on your device and processed transiently to generate insights.
We retain your data for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics (which cannot be linked back to you) may be retained indefinitely.
Lunara uses the following third-party services to operate:
• Supabase — database and authentication
• Anthropic — AI coaching generation
• Apple HealthKit — optional health data access (iOS only)
• Stripe — payment processing (we never see your card details)
Each of these services has their own privacy policy and data processing agreements.
You have the right to:
• Access a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Export your sleep data in a machine-readable format.
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@lunara-sleep-ai.com and we will respond within 14 days.
Lunara is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it immediately.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of Lunara after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
